Yeng pens new love song ‘Kung Uulitin’ for husband Yan Asuncion

Author: Mikoy Fernandez

Pop Rock Superstar Yeng Constantino has released “Kung Uulitin” last February 1 – her first original single since joining Republic Records Philippines last year. According to Yeng, “Kung Uulitin” is a love song dedicated to her husband Yan Asuncion.

“After 9 years nakasulat ulit ng kanta para sa asawa ko! Ang IKAW ay nasulat ko bago kami ikasal at tungkol sa bagong relationship namin noon, itong KUNG UULITIN naman ay about sa hiwaga ng pag-ibig na kahit sobrang tagal na eh di parin nakakasawa mahalin ang taong pinili ko,” shared Yeng on social media last January 30.

One could say that “Kung Uulitin” is Yeng’s official follow-up to her 2014 mega hit song “Ikaw” whose music video boasts a whopping 137 million views on YouTube as of writing.

Shortly after the release of the track, Yeng also showed her appreciation to her idol, mentor, and producer Raymund Marasigan who served as one of the producers of this single (the other being fellow Eraserheads bandmate Buddy Zabala) on social media.

“Yoko maging cheezy talaga pagdating sayo Kuya @raymsmercygun. Pero bayaan mo muna ko ngayon lang. Grabe lang ako ka-grateful na kasama kita gumawa ng single/EP ko kase ang laki talaga ng impact mo sakin lalo na sa creativity ko… Malaking parte ng narating ko sa industry na to eh dahil sa lahat ng naimpart mo sakin.”

While the EP was distributed under Republic Records, it was independently produced.
