Last February 28, 2023, Cornerstone Entertainment officially welcomed award-winning actor, Elijah Canlas, in a press conference held at the Privato Hotel Quezon City.
Elijah Canlas is a rising star known for playing the role of “Cario” in the Boys’ Love series and movie “Gameboys,” which was a hit during the pandemic. He is also best known for his performance in the film “Kalel, 15,” for which he received the Best Actor trophy at the 68th FAMAS Awards, the 43rd Gawad Urian Awards, and the 17th Asian Film Festival in 2022.
“Cornerstone is a very prestigious and big family, and it’s an honor, honestly, to be a part of this family and feel ko gusto ko ng bagong chapter in my career and…I’m not sure what’s going to happen, but I’m sure it’s about to all go up from here and up…” Elijah shared.
Vice President of Cornerstone Entertainment, Mr. Jeff Vadillo, gave his welcome remarks to Elijah. “We heard a lot of good feedback about you in terms of how you work and how you immerse yourself and you invest yourself in terms of performing for a particular project or role, but at the same time, we appreciate the fact you’re very friendly and you’re very nice and easy to hang out with.”
He stars in Jun Lana’s “About Us But Not About Us,” which has been included in the first Metro Manila Summer Film Festival lineup this coming April. The film debuted last November 2022 at the 26th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia and won Best Feature in the Critics’ Choice category.
Elijah will also star in two upcoming films: the Philippine adaptation of South Korean blockbuster “Keys to the Heart” and historical film “GomBurZa.”
