To mark and celebrate the release of the second season of “Drag Den with Manila Luzon,” a grand opening night was held at Ayala Malls TriNoma in Quezon City last January 17, 2023. The Grand Opening Night consisted of a media conference in the afternoon at the activity center and a blue carpet premiere in the evening at Cinema 7.
The ten drag artists of Season 2 – Deja, Elvira, Feyvah Fatale, Jean Vilogue, Margaux, Maria Lava, Marlyn, Moi, Mrs. Tan, and Russia Fox – attended the media conference alongside the show’s main host Manila Luzon (referred to as the “Drag Lord”), co-host Nicole Cordoves (the “Drag Dealer”), co-host Sassa Gurl (the “Drag Runner”) and creator and director Rod Singh. Before the mediacon proper, Manila and Sassa performed “Pom Pom” – the official theme song of Season 2. The media conference was hosted by Eva Ronda and Peabo Orilla. 3-member P-Pop girl group G22 also performed two original songs for the crowd.
In a bid to bring the show closer to its passionate fans, a Dragdagulan (a lip sync battle between Drag queens inspired by the barangayan showdown tradition) was held with the winner taking home a cash prize of P20,000. A total of seventeen queens battled it out at the activity center to the delight of the audience right before the main program.
Besides the cast of season 2, VIP guests, celebrities, and the Drag artists of Season 1 also graced the blue carpet. The winner of Season 1, NAIA (dubbed as the first ever “Pinoy Drag Supreme”) had the honor of hosting the blue carpet.
Only Episode 1 was screened at the premiere, however, it is worth noting that the version that screened in the cinema did not reveal a crucial revelation in the final scene, prompting even the invited audience to wait for the complete version on Prime video to find out what happened.
Episode 1 of “Drag Den with Manila Luzon Season 2: Retribution” became available for streaming worldwide on January 18, 7pm (Thursday) PST exclusively on Prime Video.
