Award-winning actor, Cornerstone artist, and multimedia force Elijah Canlas has achieved a rare and impressive acting feat – to star in two major movies showing simultaneously in cinemas. He plays the role of Jules in “Salvageland” and the role of Kain in the “Berbalang” segment of “KMJS’ Gabi ng Lagim: The Movie.” Both movies were released on November 26, 2025 in cinemas nationwide.
In “Salvageland” (directed by Lino S. Cayetano), Elijah stars alongside Richard Gomez, Cindy Miranda, McCoy De Leon, Angela Morena, and Mon Confiado.
In the “Berbalang” segment of “KMJS’ Gabi ng Lagim: The Movie” (directed by Dodo Dayao) Elijah stars alongside Sanya Lopez.
“I’ve been a fan of our segment – Berbalang’s director, Dodo Dayao, since I saw his short film ‘If You Leave’ back in 2015. He always serves the thrills of the horror genre but also goes deeper with the themes he injects in his stories,“ Elijah shared on social media. “I am hella proud to be part of this film. Extremely grateful for the trust of our filmmakers and producers,” he added.
Elijah also shared his thoughts on the similarities between the two movies. “Both films that I’m part of have similar themes despite having different genres – Salvageland & KMJS’ Gabi ng Lagim: The Movie tackle and explore the abuse of power by the police force among others,” Elijah said.
Both movies are now screening in select cinemas nationwide.
