P-Pop’s Newest Caliber, G22, and the Monster Rookies of P-Pop, VXON, both dazzled today, April 7, 2022, in their first-ever media conference officially titled as “FAMDOM: The VXON and G22 Media Conference” in the B Hotel Quezon City.
The groups amazed the public with G22 explosively performing their first single ‘Bang’, and VXON performing their endearing second single ‘P.S.’ live and online.
In an exclusive interview with Cornerstone, VXON’s leader C13 shared his thoughts on their first media conference saying, “It sounds cliche but inaantay din namin itong opportunity na ‘to na magkaroon kami ng mediacon as VXON and gusto pa namin na mas makilala kami ng mga tao (we’ve been waiting for this opportunity to have a mediacon as VXON and we also want more people to know us) so we’re very thankful for the opportunity.”
Upon looking back at their earlier footage as trainees, Sam (VXON’s Lead Rapper and Lead Vocals) felt nostalgic and wistful. “Na-realize namin na grabe yung growth namin. Sobrang progressive, ‘di talaga siya huminto. Natututo kami nang natututo and happy ako na lahat kami ay may teachable spirit. (We realized how much our growth was and how progressive it was. We keep on learning and I’m happy that all of us carry a teachable spirit.)”
Meanwhile, the girl group also expressed their excitement on their first media con with Jaz, G22’s Main Vocalist, saying how surreal the feeling was and how she felt so honored and grateful to be at the event.
“Thank you to everyone who came, and those online as well. Bullets – love you guys,” she added in a heartfelt statement.
“Nung nasa backstage kami, pinipigil namin na ‘di umiyak (When we were backstage, we tried to stop tearing up,),” G22 leader AJ adds as she recalled their journey. “Parang nag-flash back yung iyak, yung hirap. But nag-flash back din yung memories na masaya. Dati nangangarap lang kami ‘kailan ba kami mag-dedebut?’ (The tears, the hardship flashed back, but along with that came the happy memories as well. Before, we were just wondering when we’d debut)… and now everything is – it’s just surreal.”
Bullets (the official fandom of G22) and Vixies (the official fandom of VXON) don’t have to wait long to see their idols as both groups will appear at the PPOP Convention on April 9-10 at the New Frontier Theater, Quezon City.
The Convention is a 2-day hybrid event that fans can experience physically and online. The convention will then be followed by a concert on April 10 at the Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City.
