Fast-rising Filipino indie music label Just Music Philippines has successfully held the Just Music Fest on November 27, 2022 (Sun) at the Ayala Malls TriNoma in Quezon City. The Just Music Fest lineup included singers Pau Dimaranan, Kim Macaraig, Myca Capili, Kit Inciong; and Just Music recording artists kenji, NKO, Claudine Co, MC Einstein, I Belong to the Zoo, and TJ Monterde. The music fest was especially dedicated to OPM fans and music lovers who are in it for the musical artistry and nothing else, hence the label’s tagline: No frills, Just Music. Macoy Dubs served as the host for the music fest.
The first four singers performed renditions with Pau singing “Huling El Bimbo” by The Eraserheads, Kim singing “Sorry Na, Pwede Ba” by Rico J. Puno, Myca singing “Binalewala” by Michael Dutchi Libranda, and Kit singing “Nasa Puso” by Janine Berdin. Their beautiful renditions showcasing their exceptional singing prowess and artistic interpretative skills, are just a taste of what’s to come as they become recording artists in the future under the indie label. Pau was first discovered on Coke Studio Philippines as she got to collaborate with KZ Tandingan on Episode 6 of Season 6. Meanwhile, Kim, Kit, and Myca are actually finalists from Year 1 of TV5’s videoke game show “Sing Galing”. As the host, Macoy pointed out how it was interesting to see former competitors become “friends” and collaborators under one banner.
kenji, Claudine Co, and NKO performed some of their original songs released under Just Music with Claudine singing a soon-to-be released song entitled “Giliw” made in collaboration with Yeng Constantino. According to Claudine, she will drop the song on December 16, meaning that the TriNoma crowd got the exclusive opportunity of hearing it before anyone else.
MC Einstein, I Belong to the Zoo, and TJ Monterde serenaded the huge TriNoma crowd with their heartfelt songs such as “Kilig”, “Sana”, and “Sigurado” respectively. It was the first time that TJ sang “Sigurado” (also known as his completed wedding vow for KZ Tandingan) in public. With KZ herself in the crowd, one can easily imagine TJ’s fans screaming their hearts out.
Just Music Philippines also made public their partnership with Wave 89.1 and Ingrooves (an independent music aggregator under the Universal Music Group) with representatives from both companies present in the music fest such as Andrew Santiago (Station manager-Wave 89.1), Ryan Roxas (Programming Manager-Wave 89.1), Enzo Valdez (Managing Director-Universal Music Group Philippines), and Guji Lorenzana (Country Manager-Ingrooves). With Wave 89.1, Just Music Philippines will be premiering “Just Music Radio on Wave 89.1” this November 30, 2022 (Wednesday) with the first episode airing 12nn-1pm. Succeeding episodes will air on Fridays 7-8pm and Wednesdays 12nn-1pm. The Just Music Radio show will be hosted by Alex Diaz and will feature original Pinoy songs from various genres and artists.
