Kenji’s ‘Liham’ captivates fans of TJ Monterde during special performance

Kenji Exaltacion, an upcoming Bisaya singer-songwriter, performed on Day 3 of TJ Monterde’s 3-day sold-out “Sarili Nating Mundo” concert last February 3 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Kenji performed three songs, ending with his original track, “Liham.” The audience responded with overwhelming receptiveness, showing just how relatable and powerful his music is. Beyond the concert, Kenji’s talent has been steadily gaining recognition. His rendition of Ben&Ben’s “Leaves” was featured in the soundtrack of the 2023 film “Five Breakups and a Romance,” starring Alden Richards and Julia Montes. While it wasn’t part of his concert performance, the project highlights Kenji’s ability to deliver emotionally resonant interpretations that connect with audiences.

During the concert, Kenji shared a personal milestone: after not playing the guitar for over a year, he finally picked it up again for this special performance. This added a layer of sincerity and vulnerability to his set, making the moment even more memorable.

TJ Monterde specifically requested the Cornerstone Management to have a front act who is also a fellow Bisaya artist for the concert. Kenji, who is also a Cornerstone artist, was the perfect choice to fulfill the request.
