QUEZON CITY – From “Two Less Lonely People In The World,” theme song of the phenomenal 2017 film “Kita Kita,” Asia’s Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan once again renders her soulful voice for eccentric love team AlEmpoy, this time with a rendition of “Walang Kapalit” for the romantic-comedy film “Walang KaParis.”
Originally performed and written by OPM legend Rey Valera in 1981, “Walang Kapalit” is a classic OPM song narrating a person’s unrequited love. KZ interpreted the romance song with passionate and distressed vocals – making the song even more hurtful than it already is.
“Walang KaParis” is the much anticipated movie of Empoy Marquez and Alessandra De Rossi with director Sigrid Andrea Bernando after their highly acclaimed film, “Kita Kita.” The follow up film “Walang KaParis” is a story about a Filipino artist (Empoy Marquez) based in Paris who meets the woman he has been painting for years (Alessandra De Rossi).
KZ also sang the theme song of AlEmpoy’s blockbuster 2017 film, “Kita Kita” with a rendition of the Filipino favorite “Two Less Lonely People In The World” originally performed by world-famous Air Supply. The song became a hit in the Philippines – garnering over 81 million views on YouTube with its live performance on the Wish Bus and entering the Top 50 on Spotify Philippines along with the popularity of the romantic comedy film.
KZ’s version of “Walang Kapalit” is produced by Nikko Rivera, arranged by Yosha Honasan, mixed and mastered by Macoy Manuel, with guitar arrangement by Makoy Portado, and exclusively released by CS Music. The song was released digitally on March 10, ahead of the film’s premiere on March 23 on Prime Video.
