The long-awaited reunion project of “Kita Kita” stars Empoy Marquez and Alessandra de Rossi is finally here!
“Walang KaParis,” starring the Empoy and Alessandra love team (referred to as “AlEmpoy”), has premiered this March 23, 2023 on Prime Video. The film was produced by Spring Films and VIVA Films and written and directed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo (the same mind behind the 2017 blockbuster indie film which catapulted the AlEmpoy tandem to mainstream recognition). Upon release, the film quickly skyrocketed to the number one spot on Prime Video Philippines.
“Walang KaParis” is a romantic-comedy film that revolves around the lives of Jojo (played by Empoy), a Filipino artist in Paris who is desperately looking for the mysterious muse of his paintings, and Marie (played by Alessandra), a fellow Filipino who claims to be the woman in his paintings.
The film’s theme song is KZ Tandingan’s rendition of the OPM classic “Walang Kapalit” originally by Rey Valera. This is also a sort-of “reunion” track for KZ as she was also the one who gave life to “Two Less Lonely People In The World” — the theme song of “Kita Kita.”
