Cornerstone Entertainment’s very own P-Pop groups, VXON (read as “vision”) and G22 (read as “Jee-twenty-two”), performed alongside some of the hottest and most popular P-Pop acts and K-Pop acts at the POPSTIVAL 2022 K-Pop Meets P-Pop concert held on October 21, 2022 (Friday) at the SMDC Festival Grounds, Parañaque City. Aside from VXON and G22, the other P-Pop acts included SB19, SB19’s Felip, KAIA, Alamat, Calista, and more. The K-Pop acts included VIVIZ, LOONA, Park Bom, Hyolyn, Be’O, and Brave Girls. G22 performed “Bang”, “Babalik”, and “Defy”, while VXON performed “The Beast, “P.S.”, and “Fiyaah”, all original songs from both respective groups.

The concert is a unique offering to the Philippine concert-going crowd as it mashed up two different but fundamentally intertwined worlds of music: K-Pop and P-Pop. With the Filipino people’s love for K-Pop (and Korean pop culture in general) and the exciting rise of P-Pop music (as a whole) locally and abroad, it should not come as a surprise to anyone familiar enough with both cultures that fans (or rather stans) from both sides of the aisle were very passionate about the event. So passionate in fact that the event organizer, Neuwave Events & Productions, Inc., had to issue an open letter addressed to both K-Pop and P-Pop fans on October 10 with the intention of pacifying fans that may have gotten carried away in unnecessarily spreading “negativity” or “issues” that may cause friction between various fandoms, more than a week before the big day.

Off-stage, G22 got to meet Hyolyn while VXON got to meet LOONA.
